Marineland

Inspired by American glass artist Dale Chihuly and British wood sculptor Joey Richardson.
I utilized cholla wood as a found object to present the concept of re-evaluating works. Cholla wood is the skeleton of a cholla plant that lingers after it dies and becomes a new home for shrimps, which love to hide around cholla woods and seaweeds. I created wood textures through different materials and techniques to depict the marine life scenery with a forested feel.
